Horizn Studios — Module redesign

Horizn Studio specializes in the gamification of learning modules for financial institutions. As a UX/UI designer I created learning modules that keep employees and customers up to date. Clients include RBC, HSBC, Scotia Bank, BMO and CIBC.

Horizn Studios — Module redesign
Role

Lead UX/UI Designer

Challenge

Module redesign to meet accessibility requirements, create space for additional guidance, and make Horizn's UI distinct from each client's UI.

Timeframe

2 weeks

Structure

User research, user-centred design, collaboration, iteration & implementation support.

Process highlights

How the work came together.

Kickoff

The creative director walked the team through user pain points and the must-have features for the redesign.

Accessibility

Dated learning modules failed WCAG checks. New designs had to be enjoyable for every user, regardless of ability.

Additional guidance

More context was needed — especially for HSBC HK — but the existing layout couldn't accommodate the required copy.

Distinctive UI

The redesign gave Horizn a recognizable visual identity that stands apart from the host bank's interface.

Outcome

A WCAG-aligned module system used across major North American financial institutions, with room for richer guidance and a distinctly Horizn look and feel.
